I went out tonight seeking the Northern Lights, which would show up about 90 minutes after I left.
But all was not lost. Such a gorgeous evening watching the sunset with a symphony of stars showing up.
Add in cicadas, bull frogs, crickets, goats screaming in the distance and two deer which snuck up on me in the pitch black.
A beautiful evening.

Located across the road, from the historic Evergreen Cemetary, this photograph was captured the day before our family laid our father, James L. Dye Sr. to rest, at the Evergreen Cemetary. Capturing the photographs of Gettysburg was a huge aspect of me trying to come to terms with the sudden passing of my father. He was 76 years old, a Civil War reenactor for close to 4 decades, a civil war historian and he loved Gettysburg more than any other place on this earth. He was always one of my greatest supporters, of my photography. I love you Dad. I miss you every single day.

This is a difficult photoshoot that I am on. The scene is beautiful, it’s peaceful and I am all alone at this location. This should be perfect, but it isn’t.
Normally, when I go out for a sunset photoshoot, I would be on the phone with my Dad. If you’ve followed me long enough, you know my Dad passed away on 2/29/24. So I am out here, capturing this gorgeous sunset setting, talking to the sky. I love and miss you Dad.

Now it’s understood that you probably don’t want to receive a photography education, but it beneficial to you, as the consumer, to understand if the photographer that you’re about to hire, is a good fit for you and decide if they have the appropriate knowledge and skills to professionally produce the product that you are looking for.
